Library Music Production: Fairytales and Fantasy – DNA Musik (GER)

Fairytales & Fantasy is a production music album rooted in fantasy, folklore and the natural world. From delicate lullaby, to fierce and bold, high-impact epic adventure, this imaginative take on the creatures and scenarios that populate the broad world of myth and fantasy fiction is explored with a freshness and verve. The album was co-composed with Nic Paton and is currently licensed exclusively to the German library DNA Musik (aka Minds and Music).

Of the album, John Bartmann says, “Since Nic and I first started working together in 2006, we’ve consistently been inspired to create music which reflects the rich tradition of storytelling rooted in the natural world, and to the universal archetypes contained in fairytales and fantasy. For this albums, we used as many live instruments as possible, particularly wooden ones. We wanted to convey a certain closeness to the earth and nature in the composition. We’re really happy with the results, particularly how suitable many of these tracks are for childrens’ TV.”
